"Thank you so much for yesterday's great performance! I very much enjoyed the interaction with the public, the discussion was a productive one and went very well"

Sandra Czerwonka, Project Manager Zukunftstakademie NRW

Context

The Zukunfstakademie NRW [Bochum, DL] is a social platform concerned with the design of public space, operating at the intersection of culture, art and education. It regularly organises meetings to put current topics on the agenda and discuss them with experts and interested parties.

Output

During the thematic meeting "Diversity matters! New challenges for the art museum of the future", German museums in the Nordrhein-Westfalen region focused on the way in which they profile themselves, whether contemporary or not: internally in terms of programming and collection, and externally in terms of involvement in the public debate. With two museum directors and a cultural consultant who called herself "museum doctor", we discussed how collections are created, the diversity that collections reflect and the public's say in this and the face of museums to the outside world. In an intimate setting, in the middle of a museum, an animated conversation followed with interesting insights.
