"Thank you Robert, it was a pleasure again!"

Peter Brouwer, Sector Head of Vehicles and Vessels Police Service Centre

Context: The Facility Management Department [FM Department] of the National Police, is responsible for the day-to-day "housekeeping" at the Netherlands' largest employer. From an extensive property portfolio to a sophisticated fleet of vehicles, air and water. During Corona, many colleagues worked from home, protests required a lot of time and attention and new logistical challenges suddenly came into play. In parallel, "sustainability" could not be lost sight of for the FM Department either.

Output: During two bi-annual "Stop Days", colleagues from the FM Department interact with each other about ongoing challenges, get updated on developments in the annual plan and reflect on past successes. These physical and live sessions, I now [omreden Corona] moderated in an online format. During a plenary talk show, I interacted with the management, among others, best practices were discussed and the audience could respond live during a panel discussion by voting on propositions. In the afternoon, I led several smaller discussion groups together with a fellow discussion leader, where topical issues were further explored using a playful working form. Despite the online format, or maybe even partly because of it [as one of the sector heads said], a lot came up and employees felt heard and seen.
