Context
On average, Dutch education is still on par: there are fewer repeat students, the inequality of opportunities seems to be stabilising and there is a high commitment to renew education. But this is not the whole story. Despite educational innovation and customisation, there are still many pupils with educational disadvantage. There are diverse and context-specific factors for this e.g. teacher shortage, knowledge not being shared sufficiently and poor monitoring of educational innovation.
Output
In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the PO Council, the National Regieorgaan Onderwijsonderzoek organised the "Education Disadvantages Conference". During this live conference, I interviewed the Minister of Education, an education inspector and two professors, among others. After a round of workshops, I supervised a plenary Q&A with some speakers and summarised the conference.
