"Thank you so much for the nice collaboration, it was a fun experience doing this with you"

Joke Den Dulk, Communications advisor to the Netherlands Court of Audit

Context

The Court of Audit examines whether the government spends public money sensibly, economically and carefully. Every year, it audits the income and expenditure of the State and reports to parliament once a year on the third Wednesday in May, also known as Accountability Day. During Corona, this organisation also showed a great need for mutual contact: partly for team spirit, but also to discuss current and future developments organisation-wide.

Output

To replace the physical and annual Christmas Coffee [where the organisation looks back] and the New Year's Meeting [where the organisation looks ahead], live online talk shows were broadcast. On two occasions, I hosted both talk shows and also a live stream around Accountability Day. In these broadcasts, I interacted with the president and the college and research groups spoke about the Court's most important and special investigations via live video links. Through a sidekick, I also dealt with online submitted questions with my guests in the studio, which was set up on the Court's own shop floor for the occasion. During the livestream around Accountability Day, I also dealt with the media attention generated on that day. The professionally designed and supervised talk shows were not only considered informative, but also evoked a sense of pride and togetherness [in the difficult Corona period].
