Robert's professional background in the event- and hospitality industry explain his antenna for atmosphere and energy. In his role as hotel manager at citizenM Amsterdam Airport, he welcomed guests from around the world. Already during the early stages of your event, you will experience his strong focus on content, eye for detail and creativity. His experience in editing a TV talk show often comes in handy too. As event moderator, Robert knows how to make you feel at ease: whether it's about the audience in the room or about the speakers on stage.
Broad scope
Robert studied International Business & Languages at the Hanzehogeschool in Groningen. During his studies, he stayed in Seville and London. He eventually obtained his Master in Hospitality Management at the Hotelschool The Hague and Erasmus University Rotterdam. He started his career as Business Developer for Seats2meet. In 2008, he opened the first citizenM hotel at Amsterdam Airport as hotel manager. Before starting his company, Robert advised numerous organisations from event agency Sendsteps in the content design of their events. In 2017, he started as an independent event moderator, online moderator and speaker coach. Robert is fluent in English and regularly facilitates events abroad.
Letting others shine
Robert attended the post-HBO Journalism Interviewing course at Hogeschool Utrecht and in 2019, he worked as an assistant editor on a TV talk show. He is also a certified Coach Practitioner [TA, NLP and Systemic Work]. As a speaker coach, he works for e.g. Google, JDE Douwe Egberts, Intersport and is attached to ROC Midden Nederland as a presentation trainer. He knows how to let others "shine" and simultaneously keeping a strong presence himself. That is considered an art.
