Entrepreneurship

"Hotelello's" [a term for former hotel school students] like Robert, are known to often end up in a broad range of businesses. Their service-mindedness is a USP. Thinking from the customer's perspective: "How do I give someone the most pleasant experience possible?". Such a mindset is being reflected in every successful company. It is precisely this perspective that Robert uses in conversations with audiences, interviews with CEO's or in talks with entrepreneurs. Based on his own entrepreneurship, he likes to put himself in the shoes of other entrepreneurs and relate to the challenges that they may encounter.

Health and Wellbeing

A topic that can quickly get close, is our own health. Professional and personal care is then a precious thing. Yet healthcare is often under high pressure. Digitalisation, reduced regulatory pressure and close cooperation can help us continue to provide future-proof care. With a mother as a doctor's assistant and a brother as a heart patient, Robert got to know healthcare in an up-close and unique way. Partly because of that perspective, he enjoys contributing to events within the healthcare and wellbeing domain.

Education

Working with and for students always gives him a lot of energy. Not only does Robert host various events for education, but he is also associated with ROC Midden Nederland as a presentation trainer. In addition, he has worked for years to promote safe and inclusive education for LGBTQI students and school staff at Christian secondary schools.

Public Sector

Robert sees the news throughout the weeks, being reflected on event stages. Whether it's about how we relate to the environment, how we live or organise our working lives; these are all social issues that affect us all. Sometimes clearly noticeable or sometimes more at a distance. Their noticeable impact on citizens and companies means that Robert often participates with great curiosity in events with high social relevance. He therefore often moderates events in the public sector and for governmental organizations.

Tourism and Hospitality

After his hotel school education, Robert worked in various places within the hospitality industry. Among others as hotel manager at citizenM Amsterdam Airport. For the Protocolbureau, he has hosted VIP- and royal guests of the Dutch royal house. In his current work, he still approaches every event from the perspective of "hospitality". The best ingredient to spice up every event!

Environment and Agriculture

Robert grew up in one of the Netherlands' greenest provinces [Drenthe] and has experienced farm life there up close. As one of the largest agricultural players in the world, the Dutch farmer is part of a large tension field. The transition to organic farming, growing consumer awareness and better care for nature often still go hand in hand with severe challenges. Yet, constructive and positive intentions are to be found almost everywhere and that is what makes moderating events around environment, sustainability and agriculture so interesting for Robert.

Housing

With a huge shortage of housing and the urgency of making existing housing more sustainable, affordable and accessible housing is faced with major challenges that require drive, creativity and leadership. How can you speed up the process of building houses, make it more sustainable and at the same time respond intelligently to new living and working requirements in the midst of all kinds of political-social dynamics? In this force field, there is a lot of pressure, but also plenty of opportunities. For Robert, this is an interesting field to further foster valuable discussions and meetings during events!
